Biography
WELSH (English Medium Primary)
Sarah Edwards is a former primary school teacher who has worked for over ten years as a Welsh associate adviser for the Education Achievement Service, working across the five LEAs within the consortium – Caerphilly, Newport, Torfaen, Blaenau Gwent and Monmouth. She has worked closely with schools to ensure high quality Welsh second language provision and has delivered extensive training in all aspects of WSL pedagogy and practice. She has developed and contributed to a range of schemes of learning and resources to support pupils and staff to develop their language skills and has also provided guidance to schools working towards their Cymraeg Campus awards.
Sarah believes that the new curriculum for Wales will provide rich opportunities to not only further develop pupils’ Welsh language skills but instil a greater sense of belonging and pride in being Welsh.
